Middle Grade Great

Last month was a great month for my hardcover middle grade library!
First off, I had a super lucky time with blog giveaways, and these were my prizes. They're pretty nifty, I think.

And then this released. And with as much as I adored Three Times Lucky, of course I purchased this companion novel on Release Day.

And then, I heard nothing but super wonderful stuff about this book and purchased it shortly after its release too.

And now in March, I want to buy Hope is a Ferris Wheel and Under the Egg, but I have to wait a while.
Hardcovers are hard on the pocketbook.

I've already read my way through Flora and Ulysses, The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing, and A Snicker of Magic and am smack dab in the middle of When Audrey Met Alice. All are awesome.
What about you? Any awesome book giveaway wins lately? Purchase anything you've been dying to read?

  1. Hi Barbara - you have been lucky! Congratulations. I love the covers on those books. I also have won a couple of books this month - What The Moon Said and Ice Dogs! I loved them both. And, today I am blogging about What The Moon Said.

  3. I haven't been jumping into a lot of giveaways since #middlegrademarch has been taking a lot of my time (not complaining). But I'm beyond excited to read The 8th day.

PS: I have an Arc of Hope is A Ferris Wheel up for grabs on middlegrademarch if you're interested.

  5. I just received Under the Egg for review and will start it today. I've been pretty lucky lately too and in the last month have won Bird, Love Me, The Other Half of My Heart, and Screaming at the Ump. Now all I need is time. Some of these will be coming up on my blog in coming months for review and giveaway and they are all hardbacks, so keep a close eye, Barbara! 8-)

  6. Reading this and the comments, I think one thing is clear: I need to enter more giveaways! lol I was pretty fortunate to score an ARC of The Eighth Day, so I guess I can't complain too loudly. ;)

Looks like their will be lots of fun reviews forthcoming--I look forward to reading them!

  13. Wow, those are some good books! For my son's birthday, we gave him Ghosts of Tupelo Landing and The Shadow Throne among others, but those are the two I'm definitely borrowing from him!

  14. My goodness, I'm SO behind on my reading. I just updated my TBR list with all the books I've won, received for review, or one clicked, and I'm buried under a mountain of 150 books. Eek! For every two I read, 5 more get added to the pile. I guess this is what it means to be a bookaholic, huh? The more you indulge, the more you HAVE to read.

  15. Cute!
I'm so buried in my TBR list right now. I miss the days of finding a good book and reading at my leisure.

  16. I saw your wins and was literally like ooh!! Kate DiCamillo wrote something new....had to focus on leaving a comment instead of zipping off to Amazon. :)

  17. Congrats on your wins! It's always so fun to get those freebies! Last thing I won was "Stupid Cupid" from Tina Ferraro, a few months ago. Tina is so awesome!

  18. I love winning stuff, but especially books. Congrats to you on that score. I did win an Amazon gift card recently and then in one of Samantha Redstreak's contests I won the prize for my story. Made me giddy.

Those middle grade covers are a delight. I just love this category, and I think half of it is because of those tantalizing covers. They make me want to peek inside.

  21. No winnings for me, but been buying books like crazy. Just bought (yesterday) A book called AVA AND PIP by Carol Weston and finished reading it this morning. My oh my!! It was so good, fun, different. Also bought BLOOD MANOR and am reading that one today. I cannot wait to read the opening lines to students, they will hook them in I am sure.

  22. I can't win anything to save my life these days! but that's okay, I've won lots in the past, including one book from you once! I love that title, A Snicker of Magic. Curious what you will say about that. And loved When Audrey Met Alice. LOVED IT>
